The Children’s Media Conference opens its doors in July and Sideline Pictures will be heading to Sheffield in the hope of getting solid advice on some of their developing projects. Richard will be taking 4 very different programme ideas that he and Sideline are very passionate about. We are looking for help, advice, production partners and who knows – a commission!
So, this is all very exciting. I have been given the green light to talk about an up coming feature film, Annihilation, which I am going to be co-producing and editing.
‘In 2022 life is extinct. After it all ends, could it ever begin again? The key to life, is to begin where it all ended.’
This is a very big deal for me and as you might expect I am nervous and in rapture all at the same time. The film is due to start shooting this summer and will go in to edit this winter with a hopeful release date in 2017. To get the job I was asked to create a teaser. Armed with a slender amount of information and a healthy amount of imagination I pulled this together. I am indebted to the original sources of the material (credit where credit is due) who I could not have done this without.
I will be posting more as I learn more. Fingers crossed.
After a busy few months at the end of last year doing My Life: My Big Voice (SaffronCherry/CBBC) and the finishing for the fifth series of Britain’s Darkest Taboos (Shiver/Ci) (couldn’t be more different, those two), it’s a slow and easy start to the New Year. Lots to get excited about though. New shows for CBBC towards the end of January and February, including a The Next Step stand alone movie! Plus work with the lovely Songs Of Praise team.
So here’s to a great 2016, and a Happy New Year to you all.
The phenomena that is The Next Step will arrive soon for a second series on CBBC. The CBBC Acquisitions Dept, under the watchful eye of Aubrey Clarke, and I will be preparing it for broadcast over the next few weeks with the first eps going out in April.
Edited this in the closing months of 2014. It was a True North Production for MTV. Produced and Directed by Rob Sixsmith and Exec’d by Fiona O’Sullivan. Great show to work on and really proud of the end product.
Ladies and Gentlemen I give you the website of Sideline Pictures Ltd.
